About Us

Welcome to Herdade De'Vil. In 2024 we purchased a wonderful 14 hectare property in the Alentejo region of Portugal.

We wanted to create a sustainable place to call home, where we can live completely off‑grid, with no neighbours in sight, zero light pollution and just the sound of owls, chickens, frogs and our morning “siren”, our beloved donkey, Jacko.

Accommodation

We have some Airbnb rooms in the main farmhouse and numerous glamping tents and straw bale lodges dotted across the land.

There are no facilities inside the tents or lodges. Facilities are shared and found in our communal outdoor kitchen and ablution blocks.

Accommodations are set with double beds as standard, but we can mix up the arrangement according to your travelling party. The tents are well spaced out for privacy and to keep the sense of being in nature.

  • • Farmhouse rooms listed on Airbnb
  • • Glamping tents on platforms
  • • Straw bale eco lodges
  • • Double beds as standard (flexible layout on request)
  • • No TV, no in‑tent wifi – stars and silence instead

Facilities

Our shared facilities are simple, functional and designed for slow living outdoors.

You can cook, share meals and relax in the communal areas, then retreat to your own space under the night sky.

  • • Communal outdoor kitchen with gas hobs and BBQ
  • • Fridge space for your produce
  • • Starlink wifi available in the communal kitchen area
  • • Block of composting toilets
  • • Separate block of hot showers

There are no TVs in the accommodations, and no wifi in the tents or lodges. If those are essential for your stay, we may not be the right place for you.
